postheadericon THURSDAY ROUNDUP!

Ian Kinsler – 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored.  Its nice to see a Kinsler sighting every now and then!

Jordan Zimmerman – 8 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER 4 K and was the loser on the day!  Zimmerman was outdueled by Dan Haren.  Zimmermans June ERA will finish at 0.85 and will get the awful Cubs his next start.

Chipper Jones – Needs surgery on his knee but will “exhaust every option that we have until surgery is necessary.  Glass Chipper at his best!

Bartolo Colon – Will come off the disable list Saturday to start against the Mets.  Mets have been on quite an offensive roll lately, I wouldn’t insert him into lineups for this game.

Brad Lidge – On track to begin a minor league rehab start early next week.  One has to wonder if Lidge returns, will he regain the closers roll?

Derek Jeter – Expected to begin a rehab start on Saturday.  Expect him back within a week if all goes well.  The Chase for 3,000 is almost back on!

David Wright – Will begin a rehab assignment within a week.  Wright has been doing baseball activities for the last week and all has progressed well enough for him to move on to a rehab assignment.  Wright could be back before the All star break but I would expect to see him after

Ryan Franklin  Released by the Cardinals.  Will anyone give him a chance this year?  Maybe, but it won’t be as a closer.

Erik Bedard – To the DL with a sprained knee.  Manager Eric Wedge doesn’t anticipate Bedard needing much more than the allotted 15 days.  It was only a matter of time before Bedard hit the DL.

Ryan Dempster – 8 IP 1 ER and was stuck with a no decision.  Dempster has been phenomenal as of late, He start the month of april with a 9.58 ERA and has since put up ERA’s of 3.08 and 3.13 in May and June.  Dempster is a must start every time out.

Brandon Morrow – 7 IP, 1 ER, 10 K while picking up his 4th win of the season.  Morrow has now put together back to back quality starts, it’s safe to insert him back into fantasy lineups.
