postheadericon CLOSER WOES!

Ryan Madson – Placed on the 15 day DL retroactive to June 19th with a bruised hand.  Talk about a team that curses all its closers!  Antonio Bastardo becomes an immediate pick up, he should be getting the save opportunities.

Rich Harden – Expected to be activated from the DL on Friday.  Harden will be limited to about 90 pitches, but due to his great K rate, becomes a solid add.  You have to remember that you might only have Harden for a total of 3 starts before hes back on the DL.

Adrian Gonzalez – Will play outfield Wednesday night against the Phillies.  As I previously stated before, I doubt that Gonzo gets enough appearance/starts to be OF eligible.

Jose Tabata – Placed on the 15 day DL and is anticipated to be activated for their first game after the all star break.

Shin-Soo Choo- Had Thumb surgery on Tuesday and is not expected to return until August if at all.  If Choo wasn’t screwing you enough this year, something like this has to go and happen.  Due to Choos potential you have to hold on to him.

Alexi Ogando – Could be optioned to AAA after Fridays start.  Texas is worried that Ogando is starting to tire so sending him to AAA to rest might not be a bad idea.  It is expected to see Ogando return to the Texas rotation after the all star game.

Cliff Lee – Complete game shut out against a tough Red Sox lineup.  Lee has pitched 46 innings in June allowing just 1 run!

Josh Johnson – His shoulder is not feeling 100% so hes going to see Dr. James Andrews.  Theres a lot of talk about how this is just routine, I don’t buy it.  Stay tuned, and don’t be surprised if Johnson is shut down for the rest of the year.

Adam Dunn – Now seeing a sports psychologist.  Dunn is all sorts of a mess, if the Sox are willing to resort to this things are really troublesome.  Dunn cannot be owned in any leagues at this point.

Gio Gonzalez – 8 IP, 0 ER, 9 K while picking up his 7th win.  After struggling to start June he has now settled down and only allowed 3 runs in 21 IP.
