postheadericon MCKEON THE BOSS!!

Hanley Ramirez – Benched for arriving late to the ballpark.  McKeon is not wasting any time showing Hanley who is boss here.  I don’t see this benching being any more than one game.

Adrian Gonzalez – Terry Francona said Monday that Gonzalez could see some time in the outfield on their upcoming NL road trips.  I’m not sure that this will happen, and even if it does, I don’t know if he’ll play enough games there to become outfield eligible.

Albert Pujols – Out 4 to 6 weeks with a broken forearm, but reports say he is likely out until August.  Pujols will need 4 weeks in a cast but it could take a while for him to get back to baseball activities.

Ricky Romero – tough luck loser on Monday pitching 7 innings with 2 earned runs and striking out four.  What’s funny is that Tim Hudson ended up driving in the 2 runs.  Romero has now lowered his ERA to 2.98 on the year.

Tim Hudson – 8 IP, 0 R, 8 K picking up his 6th win on the year.  Not only did Hudson pitch a masterful game, he also drove in the only 2 runs the Braves score!

Ryan Braun – Was scratched just before game time with a viral infection.  Apparently he has been fighting this for a few days, but is expected to be in the lineup Tuesday.

Clayton Kershaw – Complete game shut on Monday against the Tigers while striking out 11.  Kershaw has been struggling lately, lowering his June ERA from 5.95 to 4.08.  Kershaw’s season ERA now sits at 3.01 with 7 wins on the year.

Hunter Pence – Held out of Monday’s lineup with a sprained elbow.  I don’t see this elbow issuing putting Pence on the DL, but it is something we should monitor.  Pence says he hopes to play Tuesday night, if he doesn’t, Pence owners should start to worry.

Phil Hughes – Will make 2 more rehab starts before returning to the Yankees.  Hughes struck out 7 batters while touching 95 on the radar gun.  If Hughes is on the free agent wire, and you have a DL spot available, I’d give him a shot.
