postheadericon MR. 3,000 ON HOLD!!

Derek Jeter – Place on the DL with a right calf strain.  Jeter is six hits shy of 3,000 and will continuing pursuing this May 29th, the first day he’s eligible off the DL.

Justin Morneau – To the DL with a sore left wrist.  Things just keep getting worse for Morneau, if you can get anything of value for Morneau, take it.

Joe Mauer  Will not return on Thursday as expected.  Instead he will face Joe Nathan on Wednesday, whatever that means.  Joe Mauer is the reason why you don’t draft catchers at the spot he was drafted at.

Jake Peavy – Says hes open to pitching in the bullpen.  Peavy in the bullpen might not be a bad idea, its much like what Kerry Wood did.  The Sox aren’t open to this right now, but don’t be surprised if you do see him in the pen after he injuries himself yet again this year.

Hanley Ramirez – was activated from the DL and promptly went 0 for 4.  Yup, that’s Hanley picking up right where he left off!

Dustin Ackley – Expected to be promoted on Monday.  Rumors had it he was going to be called up this past Monday but due to super two reasons he was not.

Cole Hamels – Left his start after 7 innings with back tightness.  Hamels was absolutely brilliant again Tuuesday night before exiting.  Since May 28, Hamels has only allowed 4 earned runs.  Hamels is certainly pitching like an SP 1 right now!

James Shields – Complete game shut out Tuesday night against a red hot Red Sox team.  Shields was dazzling allowing only 5 hits and walking 3.  Shields ERA sits at a rather impressive 2.60 on the year, remember what I said, he’s not a sub 4 ERA pitcher.

Danny Espinosa – 3 for 5 with an RBI in a Nationals come from behind win.  Espinosa is still struggling to hit for average but his power numbers are excellent and hes driving in runs.  I still see him as a .250 hitter with 20+ home runs and 80+ RBI.  Some would kill for that at the 2B position.

Jose Reyes – 3 for 5 with two stolen bases Tuesday night.  Reyes is on an absolute tear right now, as is proving that when healthy, hes one of the best in the game.  I could see Reyes getting a few MVP votes if he continues this all year.

Jared Weaver – Complete game shut out over the M’s Tuesday night picking up his 8th win.  Weaver owed us this start since he has been winless in his last 8 starts.
